VHD Approved Kosher Symbols (Hechshers)From Wikipedia: A hechsher (Hebrew: הכשר "kosher approval"; plural: hechsherim) is a rabbinical product certification, qualifying items (usually foods) that conform to the requirements of halakha (i.e. Jewish law). Are you wondering whether or not the delicious-looking appetizer you just found at the grocery store is appropriate to bring to a synagogue potluck? Look for the package's kosher symbol (in Yiddish "hechsher") in this list and you will know if it will be welcome at a Vaad HaKashrut of Delaware (VHD) compliant table. The symbol can be found in small type on any part of the package, but is often on the bottom front or near the ingredient list.

VHD Approved!
There are many organizations providing kosher supervision. This list of symbols represents the organizations approved by the Vaad HaKashrut of Delaware. Should you encounter any other symbol, or have any other questions, please contact us with your questions.
- Remember to keep your item fully packaged until it can be heated or served in a kosher kitchen. If you are having trouble finding a hechsher, whole, uncut, raw fruit and veggies are always welcome.
