A look at the events which led up to the destruction of the Second Temple.
Though we consider patience to be a virtue the Talmud (Gittin 56a) suggests that the 2nd Temple was destroyed due to the patience and humility of one of the leading rabbis of the time. Can one be overly patient and humble? How can we apply this Talmudic teaching to our time?
We all make mistakes, the key is to recognize our mistakes and take corrective action before more damage is done. Judaism survived the revolt against Rome because there were those that realized that the revolt was doomed to failure and an alternative course was needed.
